Our first family trip to the Big Apple with 3 kids in tow happened summer of 2016.We decided to stay in two different areas during the trip to reduce travel time between sites we wanted to visit.
Our first accommodation was the Residence Inn Downtown Manhattan, World Trade Centre. From here we were able to comfortably walk to Wall Street, the World Trade Centre and the Brooklyn Bridge. It was very convenient to access Chelsea and Soho from this location as well.
Our second hotel was the Residence Inn NY Manhattan Midtown East. Here we were closer to 5th Avenue, Times Square, Grand Central Station and Central Park.
The hotels were typical of all-suite city properties with no views (except of buildings) or swimming pools. However they were conveniently located and provided a simple buffett breakfast to start the day. The best feature is the large space, sofa beds and full kitchens. Properties like these would also have a laundry floor which comes in handy when travelling with kids.
